After over 500,000 kilometers through bush, jungle, and deserts, I consider myself a millionaire of experiences: every tour was a wild adventure. For me, Overcross is the ultimate drug – I stayed addicted and became Dopamine Dealer No. 1.

Our History

2001 – 2006

From the first website to the first motorcycle trips and off-road expeditions – always started with a lot of passion.

2006

Official founding of Overcross as a tour operator specialized in individual adventure travel.

2010

Portfolio expansion to include tours in North Africa and South America.

2014

Over coffee, the idea of the Trans-Africa Expedition was born – a heartfelt vision sparked by passion and wanderlust.

2015

Launch of sustainable projects with local partners on-site.

2018

Introduction of specialized theme tours (e.g. Women-only, photography, culinary tours).

2022

More than 3,000 happy travelers each year – Overcross becomes a major player in the scene.

2024

Launch of the Overcross Academy – tour guide training and technical workshops for off-road and motorcycle fans.

A fantastic tour into the Tunisian Sahara. Demanding for the vehicles, drivers, and passengers. There were some truly adventurous experiences and great team spirit. It was magical what Feti, our local guide, and the chef conjured up with the simplest of tools. With Joe's excellent guidance, we experienced a good mix of improvisation and organization. A true adventure.

We spent two weeks traveling in Tunisia with Joe Küster himself. The impressions are still lingering... We experienced and learned a great deal. For a total of six days, with the help of two extremely capable Tunisian guides (Fethi and Habib), we battled our way to the Lost Lake and successfully returned. With our weight, that's almost unthinkable. The organization was a bit chaotic at times, but that didn't have any negative consequences. An off-road tour like this simply can't be planned on the drawing board. Overall, an extremely impressive tour.

I am not an employee of Overcross but I feel like reacting to the recent negative comments regarding some situation in Angola. Knowing both the company and the Portugese mentality I guess what happened was that the Angolans tried to scam the company after the OC vehicle had an emergency. It is highly unlikely OC would not pay for towing or any other service.

The offroad trip to Tunisia was amazing. Wasn’t anything for relaxing, it’s more of an adventure trip of course. I have got some of the best moments and memories of my life, especially thanks to guides Ludwig and Arne. Really thank you guys!

They are not professional or trustworthy at all! They did not pay for the towing service provided! Do not do business with them if you do not want to suffer losses.
